Haircuts

Have today off. General surgery has been really rough. Worked 70+ hours this week, saw a few surgeries and did some cool stuff, but mostly tedious wound dressings and busy work. Glad to have a bit of time to rest.

Gave the kids haircuts today. Before and after:

Handsome boys!

Feeding the horses

We went to a mounted patrol police station yesterday for our preschool field trip. They have quite a lot of horses there. I had to write about it because Enoch was so brave to feed the horses carrots ALL BY HIMSELF. I'm so proud of him!

The horse was showing us tricks

I finally got a picture of a horse eating a carrot off his hand.

Peter just wanted to sleep.

Our group-three preschools combined

Actually Enoch used up all our carrots (probably about 1lb) and then he had to ask our friend Leah for one more carrot so he could feed to the horse. I didn't want to discourage him because I love him to be brave!

Bumbo, clifford, preschool

Somehow I managed to get both days off this weekend! A wonderful rest because I've been feeling pretty crummy the past 2 weeks on surgery, coughing so much that all my chest/back muscles are sore. Had a series of 13/14/15 hour days this week, but at least got to see some cool surgeries.

Photo shoot with the kids this morning. Peter's first time in the bumbo. He will be 3 months next week!

Sharon finished Michael's Clifford that she was working on for his birthday. It turned out cute, and he loved it, which made Sharon happy.

Enoch and Michael had their first day in a church preschool group. It went well for both of them. They were both so proud to tell me what they learned when I got home at night. Enoch was proud that he went to school just like I did and of his drawing, and Michael was proud of learning about circles.

Some grilled tofu for our multi-cultural ward party. It's really good.

The boardwalk -- jesse h jones park

Started surgery last Monday. First is 2 weeks of vascular. It's been long days but I've seen some cool surgeries and even had a mild weekend. We're adjusting, since we've been used to 8 hour psychiatry days.

On Saturday we went to a park here in Houston about 45 minutes from out house, Jesse H Jones nature reserve.

It was a fun morning. At the end I cooked chicken breasts stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon on the BBQ. Yum

Some photos of Peter and the boys. First comparing now to 2 months ago:

It is quite evident that Peter has doubled in size since then! He is now about 16 pounds.
