Enoch's 4th Birthday

Enoch's birthday is today and his party was yesterday. He's 4 now! He is a wonderful boy. He's very smart, very kind, and has his own interests. Ninja turtles are one of them, so Sharon threw him a ninja turtle party. She worked really hard and did a great job. We wanted the party to be small so Enoch wouldn't feel overwhelmed. 5 kids came, which was a good number, but it wasn't too crowded because it was a kid-only party with no parents. I think Enoch had a great time.

Party preparations:

These balloons were a really fun idea. The kids loved them. Unfortunately, I helped blow some of them up and one popped on my eye ball. I think I scratched my cornea... it's still really uncomfortable!

Her cake and cupcakes were so well done! She made something called a fondant, which I'd never heard of before, to decorate with. It's like some sort of marshmallow frosting that's firm and good for decorating. It was very tasty! And the chocolate cake underneath was delicious.

These jello things were really good. The lime with the orange flavoring was a great combo. And it was fun to eat.

The juice was "ooze".

Party favors

Personalized jars of M&M's for everyone

The actual party:

Played a game where we each kid 1 minute to hit as many turtle heads as possible with balls.

Pin the pizza!

A ninja turtle pinata! It proved to be very, very sturdy. Sharon builds a solid pinata, that's for sure. We eventually let the kids take off their blindfolds and go to town, and in the end only my superior strength could break it open. This was good, though, because everyone got a lot of whacks.

Had some extra time so did a bit of painting.

Presents! Among Enoch's favorites were ninja turtle bubbles and ninja turtle walkie talkies

Enoch posing with his precious ninja turtle bubbles. Today, he spilled the entire bottle all over the carpet :-(

He wanted to go to sleep with the ninja turtle eyes from the pin the pizza game. Today he went to sleep with them again.

We were both exhausted by the end of the day. Sharon put a lot of work into it and I think it was a success, and we hope Enoch felt special.

A combined blog about Discovery Green kids' Olympics and Rodeo

We went to Discovery Green Kids' Olympics last Sat and Rodeo last Wed. I wanted to remember those moments.

Michael sliding down the big wall in the jump house. He was very cautious.

Enoch went through the maze all by himself! he was so proud of himself and we were proud of him too!

We needed it to  take a picture of the red purse I got from Mardi Gras parade in New Orleans and post it on their website per their ask. So that's why I was showing off the purse.

Maybe you cant tell but it was a happy moment for Enoch!

Going down the big slide with daddy!

Rock and Roll competition!

Daddy Michael team.

Once they said "start" Michael threw himself on the ground. Took him a while to get up and get going but we did get to finish the race.

My little sport!

We missed "baby crawl" competition by a few mins which was so so sad because Peter could have totally won us a $100 gift card. :-(

It was a great day at Discovery Green, everything was free except for parking which we payed $6 for 4 hours which was way worth it.

Last Wed was Rodeo playgroup. Sam has been on night shifts and he managed to come with us for about 2 hours before leaving for his 18-hour night shift. What a super dad!!

I was just wanting to remember in the future what we did for these two occasions so I put lots of pictures in. Don't have time to explain or add capture. I'm just going to leave it that way.
