Christmas Card 2019

Christmas cards are not on the top of my to-do list. Sam likes the idea of them, and I'd like to humor him even though it's not a tradition I grew up with, but we both can't seem to get around to it. Having a non-American wife means some traditions are bound to get overlooked when we get busy! Good thing Sam is easygoing and accepts it gracefully. My excuses are I was busy teaching for a couple years and now have a new baby. Maybe next year I'll move it up my list. 🤞

As you can see, our family has grown one more little person. Winona is our biggest blessing this year. We love her to pieces. She, like all her brothers, acquired a chubby-cuteness after just a few weeks, and insists on waking up for snacks multiple times a night. We often joke that she's fat enough she shouldn't need to eat at night, but it doesn't seem to be true ;-)

Sam is on his last year of radiology residency. He is going to stay at Banner for a year of neuroradiology fellowship next year. We are excited to finally be done with residency soon! He works so hard to provide for our family. Especially after I decided to stay home with the baby, Sam often takes on extra shifts so that we can live comfortably. For that we are grateful!

Sharon is currently staying home with the baby and boys. She stopped teaching full-time and was a substitute teacher before the baby was here. She misses teaching sometimes but is glad to be able to be a more involved parent. She loves volunteering at school and hopes to go back soon with the baby.

Enoch is in 4th grade Chinese Immersion. He loves reading, video games and long hikes. This year he is trying out Tennis and likes it better than any other sport. He is very talented with piano and is playing at a very advanced level. He tried out trumpet at band and performed well at his concert. He is the Mesquite school spelling bee champion for 4th grade and will represent Mesquite to compete at the district bee in January.

Michael is in 3rd grade Chinese Immersion. He loves reading, video games and sports, especially soccer. He has done very well on several different soccer teams, and insists on carrying his own soccer ball to and from school every day even though it makes his backpack bulky and hard to carry. He has a competitive spirit and loves any game. Being left-handed sometimes gives him advantages too. Michael is very smart and does well at school just like his brothers, however, his favorite subject at school is P.E. and favorite thing is recess.

Peter is in 1st grade Chinese Immersion. He loves reading, video games and pretty much anything we let him try. He plays piano with passion and likes to sing. He was the Mesquite first grade school-wide spelling bee winner and is often seen picking my brains with how to spell certain words. Not only that, he also loves to quiz me on things he learned at school by asking "Did you know...?"

Merry Christmas to you and yours!
