The first few weeks

Enoch is 18 days old now and he has been growing a lot! The past couple days, he started to mix days and nights. IT ONLY GETS WORSE!!! He wouldn't settle in his bassinet at nights and want to be held the whole time he is sleeping, so he has been sleeping on my belly. Anybody has ideas to correct his habits? We tried leaving him crying in his bassinet one night hoping that he would go to sleep soon when he's tired, but it ended up with me crying because he wouldn't give up screaming! Thanks to mom that I could get a couple hours nap at day time and don't need to worry about making dinner! I think we'll stay with mom and dad until Sam takes MCAT.

Enoch's umbilical cord fell off last week and so we gave him his first bath. He didn't like it then, you can tell from how hard he cried.
Enoch is doing really good at tummy time:
He loves to smile, I don't know if he really means anything when he smile, but isn't he the cutest boy ever?
Look at that cute smiling-sleeping face...We also found out that Enoch sleeps with his eyes open sometimes... Poor little guy!

With so many people out there who cant believe that Sam is a dad now, I have to say: Sam is a really good father! He would play with Enoch when he gets home from school and work no matter how tired he is. He helped with changing diapers and dirty clothes. He would pick up crying Enoch in the early morning and pet him to sleep when I'm exhausted. What more can you expect?

Sam is going to take MCAT on April 10th, it's intense with a newborn baby. But I know he'll do great!

Enoch!

Happy Birthday Enoch!! He was born yesterday, March 16th, at 8:28PM, 7bls 4oz, 20 inches long (including the cone head). Sharon did great and Enoch is a handsome production of our half-and-half factory. Even though Sharon wasn't due until the 26th, we knew Enoch would be an obedient little boy and come during Spring break. It all started yesterday morning when we heard the "pop" of Sharon's water breaking. I did a happy dance, and 12 hours later Sharon was pushing out the baby.

Anyway, here's what you all want: pictures.

Waiting for the action to start.

And bam! Mom and baby!

Here he looks somewhat Asian

Here a little bit less Asian

And here even more American. He's officially a half-breed!

Cutey.
Grandma and baby

And another mama and baby.

Oh yeah, what was the first thing that Enoch did when he was born? Pee on the doctor.

Burning Jalapeno Hands

I had an idea with dire consequences: Jalapeno pizza.

Tonight the missionaries came over for dinner and we fed them pizza. One pizza was chicken pineapple and the other vegetarian. I thought we could spice up the vegetarian pizza with a jalapeno, so we bought one today. Yet, as Sharon and I fixed the toppings together, the jalapeno completely slipped my mind. Both pizzas were about ready to go into the oven, so I left to go pick up the missionaries. In my absence, Sharon remembered about the jalapeno and faithfully cut it up, put it on the pizza, and put the pizzas in the oven.

Fast forward 30 minutes:

The 4 of us were enjoying delicious pizza. Sharon, on the other hand, was getting restless. In the midst of our somewhat awkward conversation with the missionaries, her hands started to become fidgety. Suddenly, she went to the kitchen and put her hands under the water, complaining of a burning sensation.

Fast forward 60 minutes:

Googling "jalapeno burn," seemed of little avail. Soap and water, milky water, cold white vinegar, baking soda, hand sanitizer, lotion, clorox with bleach, and rubbing alcohol all seemed ineffective in alleviating Sharon's burning fingers. Due to testimonials on various message boards we even tried saliva--no effect.

Fast Forward 60 minutes:

Two of our friends, Krista and Jeff, had unexpectedly come over to bring gifts for the baby. As we talked with them, Sharon initially was periodically returning to her bowl of ice-cold, finger-numbing vinegar as a source of relief. Being actively engaged in conversation with our friends, however, Sharon seemed to forget all about her fingers. 20 minutes later, she realized the pain was gone.

Turns out all it took to get rid of 2 and a half hours of pain was pleasant company.

Make my baby!

Ok, at the right site of my facebook there's an advertisement called "Makemybabies", basically you upload your and your partner's pictures and then they'll predict a baby picture based off the two pictures with face detection technology. Seriously, how can I resist that? Unfortunately, I have to pay $9.99-$19.99 for the baby picture! Should I get it?

Of course no! But how can I satisfy my growing curiosity? I turned to google search and lucky for me, I found a free "MakeMeBabies" website. So I uploaded Sam's and my pictures, and here's what we got:
What make me babies came up with for a Chinese woman and American man
The boy in the picture looks totally Asian to me. Sam's probably a little bitter. Cant wait to compare this picture with our baby boy!

PS: The boy does have a big head...
