Easter and Celebrating Enoch's birthday

We celebrated Easter and Enoch's birthday with family on Easter Sunday at our house. We just put pavers in our backyard surrounding our pool, it looks nice.

We did Easter egg hunt with Russell. It was so fun!

Enoch is 6 years old!!!

Enoch turned 6 on March 16th. What a big boy now!!

This past year, Enoch did amazing in kindergarten which is Chinese immersion.

As Enoch's teachers said, he is reading between 2nd to 4th graders' reading levels. He is a fast reader and can comprehend well at the same time. Enoch is in accelerated reading club where only a few of the kids get elected into. He is doing great in it.

Drawing is Enoch's another passion. He can be absorbed in drawing for a long long time. Thus our house has almost unlimited printer papers that we stocked up. Michael and Peter had gotten into loving drawing as well. I like it when they sit around the table to draw, cause that gives me some quiet time to do stuff. Enoch pays lots of attention to details and can draw and cut very precisely. He is such a perfectionist!

Recently Enoch started to write "books" with chapters. He would cut paper and staple them together to make book pages. And then write stories on the "books". His favorite books to write is about our dog Daisy. He would come to us and very proudly read the "book" to us.

His Chinese teacher said that Enoch is also really good with math, since math is taught in Chinese. Sometimes he would do math problems at home by himself just for fun. And sign his Chinese name on the practice paper.

Enoch played soccer and baseball during the past school year. He likes baseball better than soccer, mainly because baseball is less competitive than soccer. Sports is not Enoch's strong suit and he often tells me that "mommy, I just don't like sports." But we make him at least try it out.

This past year was really challenging on Enoch's nose condition. All the moving around sure didn't help with his rhinitis. We tried a lot of different things, and went through a lot of frustrations, but we are so glad that the nasal saline rinse seems to work the best for him. Being able to breath, eat and sleep, function normally instead of having to wipe your nose very so often definitely helped to increase his life quality. That is a big accomplishment for sure!

Enoch is such an intelligent, creative and sweet boy. We love him and are so proud to be his parents. Happy 6th birthday Enoch!

Ski trip and Enoch's birthday during spring break

I've always wanted to try out skiing, but I was either pregnant at the time (Sharon of course), having a young baby,  or we couldn't afford to go. Finally after 7 years of our marriage, my dream ski trip happened!!!!!!

We went to sunrise ski resort for a 5 day trip during the first week of Enoch's spring break, with 3 days of skiing and two days of driving there and back. We stayed at Pinetop Best Western hotel for 4 nights. Got there Sunday afternoon, checked in, went and rented our ski gears, went for a small hike by a pretty lake, had a nice dinner as a family.

Michael had a fall running around

Day One (Monday):

Enoch and Michael: Super Tracker all day where they learned to ski with the help of their instructor. Peter: was too young, so he stayed at the child care place "The Funland" instead.
Me: a full day of group adult ski lesson, where I progressed pretty quickly that by lunch time I was asking to go up to a higher level class. Although, they only had one instructor that day so I had to stay with my class. I learned to ski on the easy green loop the first day, with not many falls surprisingly. Sam:  went skiing by himself around the park, did as many loops as he could and didn't even stop to eat lunch.

We went to Sakura buffet for dinner and everybody was so hungry and we ate lots of food, including the kids, definitely got our money' worth.

Day Two (Tue):

Enoch and Michael:  half day of Super Tracker lessons, and played with Peter in the Funland for half of the day.
Me: The second day of skiing was the most challenging to me. Sam took me to the green loop that starts all the way from the top, and even challenged me to do a blue loop. I think I did pretty good, with some falls.

Sledding on saucers

Can you believe that there was snow on the mountain?

Enoch and Michael both were able to ski a little bit by themselves, but I wasn't able to get a good video of Michael. Here is one of Enoch:

 Day Three (Wed):

Enoch's birthday, March 16th!
Sam and I went skiing together to the Apache Trail, the highest session of the mountain.
We got all three boys out of their lesson/class around noon.
Sam took some time to teach Enoch and Michael to ski by themselves, which was really fun to watch. The boys also got to sled sitting on saucers that our friend lent to us. Then we went back to our hotel, where Enoch opened most of his presents.  Dinner at McDonald with play place in Show Low, as Enoch requested. Afterwards, we went to an icecream store back in pinetop, got icecream to eat with blue cupcakes. Jacuzzi before bed time! Happy 6th birthday Enoch!

My first Ever Blue Trail!!

Took this pic because Enoch only took a few bites before he said he was done with the huge icecream cone. Later on, he admitted that he was intimidated by how big it is and not sure how to eat it without making a mess.

Thu we packed up and drove home. Stopped at Salt River Canyon on the way home.
