Peter

Our babies seem to have great timing. I finished my pediatric shelf exam on Friday, which began my 2 week summer break before I start psychiatry. At 2:30 AM on Saturday morning, Sharon started having painful contractions. At 3:30 she woke me up and said 2 things:

"Sam, wake up. Two things: First, there's a cockroach in the kitchen. Second, I'm going into labor."

I killed the cockroach, we got some stuff ready, and dropped off Enoch and Michael at some amazing friends' house at about 5:45.

Eventually, a couple of hours passed that Sharon described as the worst pain of her life. She got an epidural, we tried to relax for a few hours, and at 2:00 PM she started feeling intense pressure down there. At around 2:25 she started pushing, and at about 2:35 Peter was born.

Sharon did great. She pushed that baby right out and didn't tear, either. She's feeling better than she ever imagined she would, too. I feel so fortunate that everything went so well. A wonderful early father's day present.

Sharon and Peter come home tomorrow. Like the other boys, we gave him Sharon's maiden name "You" as his middle name.

Pictures:

Our family of four boys and a woman. Enoch and Michael weren't necessarily wanting to cooperate.

When we got to the hospital, Sharon was afraid they would send her home and call it false labor. We did 6 laps around the hospital, which is about 1.2 miles, to keep those contractions going.

Sharon and Peter, about 30 seconds old.

Seven pounds seven ounces. 19.75 inches tall.

Happy Father's day!

This shot is less staged then you might think. Enoch gets excited about Peter. Michael verbally admitted that he's scared of Peter.
